# Senior Common Room ## expand\_more Winthrop's Senior Common Room (SCR) refers to both [a physical location](/senior-common-room) and a group of people. The group of people that is Winthrop's SCR comprises scholars and professionals from a diversity of backgrounds as well as the [Resident Tutors](/people?f%5B0%5D=hwp_c_role1234567891011121%3A122694&page=0), [Scholars-in-Residence](/people?f%5B0%5D=hwp_c_role1234567891011121%3A122697&page=0), and various other Winthrop staff. The SCR enriches the intellectual and cultural life of the Winthrop House community. It helps community members build social and professional networks at Winthrop and beyond through events like the Perini-Woods Memorial SCR Speaker Series. It is a wonderful resource for undergraduates, who are encouraged to engage with and reach out to SCR members.
