Hello Winthrop! I'm originally from Farmington Hills, MI (near Detroit) and graduated from Harvard College in 2013. I concentrated in Engineering Sciences and earned a teaching license through the Undergraduate Teacher Education Program (UTEP). As an undergraduate I also sang in the Harvard Krokodiloes and participated in several PBHA outreach programs. After graduating I taught math at a high school in Detroit through Teach for America. Then I earned a PhD in mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Harvard Microrobotics Lab where my research focuses on developing control algorithms for soft robots. I enjoy being active, especially team sports. I also enjoy biking, hiking, and splashing around in big bodies of water. I'd love to chat about robotics, teaching, singing, outreach, research, science, grad school, binge-worthy Netflix series, Brandon Sanderson Cosmere books, or whatever else is on your mind. I look forward to getting to know you!
