Julie Wilson is the Harry Kahn Senior Lecturer, Emeritus, at the Kennedy School of Government. Her work has focused broadly on social policy, particularly child welfare, child and adolescent development, sex trafficking of minors, social services and poverty alleviation. She has looked particularly closely at the relationship between urban spatial structure and child and family well-being. In addition to teaching at the Kennedy School of Government, Julie spent time in New York State government where her work focused on improving health care quality and access for poor individuals and families, reforming public assistance, and increasing access to child care.

Julie has been active with the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter since its opening more than 40 years ago and was involved with the development of Y2Y, the student-run shelter for young adults 18-24.
