Khatuna Salukvadze is a Fellow at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies and a Senior Fellow 2024 with Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative (ALI). A Georgian diplomat and scholar, she brings to Harvard extensive experience in diplomacy, international relations, and public service.

In her most recent role as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Lithuania, she advanced Euro-Atlantic security and European integration priorities. She has been a change leader and member of Georgia’s reforms team, contributing to the country’s institutional and democratic transformation.

Previously, Ambassador Khatuna Salukvadze spearheaded the U.S.–Georgia Strategic Partnership Charter, served as Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister, and led the development of Georgia’s national and foreign security concepts.

Alongside her diplomatic service, Khatuna has pursued a scholarly career in international relations and security studies, teaching and conducting research at Tbilisi State University and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Her research and publications focus on Euro-Atlantic integration, democratic resilience, and the design of effective security frameworks.

Khatuna is a member of the UN Senior Women Talent Pipeline and was selected under the UN Secretary-General’s Global Call for Leaders for senior leadership in UN peace operations. Her scholarly work on unresolved conflicts and their implications for Euro-Atlantic security has influenced institutional approaches adopted by international donors and governments to strengthen resilience in fragile states. Through her Harvard fellowship, she also promotes inclusive approaches to security—advocating for the advancement of women and diverse perspectives in international security, peacekeeping leadership, and conflict prevention.
