Michelle is originally from Mexico City and is excited to be part of the Winthrop House community. She’s a biochemist and molecular biologist by training, focused on infectious disease. Previously worked in academia on point-of-care diagnostics research with labs at Columbia University and the University of Nevada, Reno. Outside of work, she’s passionate about STEM education, serves on the boards of several nonprofits, and volunteers with Minds Matter Boston. As an artist, she enjoys candle sculpting, painting, and photography. She bikes daily, loves non-fiction, and is a big believer in lifelong learning. Michelle also enjoys rating (and eating!) great food, growing her plant collection, and spending time with her amazing partner, Matt Agboola, and their furbaby, Preston. She’s looking forward to connecting, sharing meals, and supporting you!
