As a cardiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, I focus on preventive cardiology which includes treating complex lipid disorders, diabetes and hypertension and use of nutrition in preventing heart disease. Research interests include identifying the ratio of proinflammatory and pro-resolving lipid mediators in coronary plaque regression and progression. Recently, I completed a clinical trial which showed that omega-3 fatty acids, which are found in fish (i.e., salmon) can delay cognitive aging by at least 2.5 years.
