Hello Winthropians!! My name is Iman Alshawk and I recently graduated in May 2023. I’m super excited to be returning to Winthrop after having spent 3 years of my undergrad there! I’m originally Iraqi, and my family and I moved to Dearborn, Michigan when I was in high school.

While at Harvard, I studied Computer Science and did my secondary in Government. I enjoyed doing a bunch of different extracurricular activities while in college; from debating in Arabic to volunteering to participating in religious and cultural organizations, I’m so grateful for how each activity uniquely contributed to my amazing undergrad experience! I also really loved being on the CS50 staff for 3 years!

With that being said, I’m currently doing a tech rotational program at GMO, an investment management firm headquartered in Boston. I would absolutely love to meet you all and help you in navigating undergrad in any way possible!
