Sara Bleich
Hi Winthrop! I am so excited to get to know this special community and become part of the Winthrop family. My name is Sara, and I wear a few hats at Harvard. I am the inaugural Vice Provost for Special Projects, a Professor of Public Health Policy at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a member of the faculty at the Harvard Kennedy School.
My north star is helping underserved individuals achieve a better quality of life. My work toward that goal has included research on diet-related diseases, food insecurity, and racial inequality, as well as two tours of duty in the federal government – first in the Obama Administration and later in the Biden Administration.
I earned my B.A. in psychology from Columbia and my Ph.D. in health policy from Harvard. I am originally from Baltimore City, a twin, and the very proud mama of two teenage girls who keep me on my toes. Outside of work, I love trying new restaurants and spending time with family and friends.
I can’t wait to meet you, learn more about your experiences, and get to know the Winthrop community!
