Sascha is a research group leader and Rowland Fellow at Harvard University’s Rowland Institute. His team employs light-matter interactions to understand the next generation of soft semiconductors with the overarching goal of maximizing energy efficiency for a sustainable future by unlocking applications ranging from flexible light-weight solar cells & displays all the way to entirely new applications in quantum information processing.

Prior to starting his research group at Harvard in 2022, Sascha studied Chemistry at Heidelberg University (Germany) and completed his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Cambridge (UK) in 2020, where he continued to work as an independent EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow.

Sascha is also a Forbes 30under30 honoree and has been a first-gen student. Aside from his passion for sustainable energy technologies, Sascha loves art, cooking, baking, lifting weights, and dogs!
