Welcome to the Winthrop House Team!
Welcome to the Winthrop House Team! We're so excited that you are joining and are very much looking forward to working with you.
This page has some quick reference information, relevant for when you start in Winthrop.
First, see the student welcome page, which includes links to learn about the physical spaces (trash rooms, laundry, etc), House life, maintenance requests, emergency contacts, when the DHall opens and closes, and more.
Second, here are key people to ask about things as you settle in:
- Building Manager Sarah Gallant for anything related to your suite or the building
- House Administrator Paris Sanders for anything related to getting set up in systems, pointers to College resources, etc.
- Other Resident Tutors and House Aides for any questions that your peers are in the best position to answer. Note that there is a Winthrop House Staff GroupMe; ask any RT or House Aide to add you!
- Faculty Deans Steve and Kiran for anything and everything else
And here are some useful additional links and info:
- Res Tutor Manual (link to come): the Winthrop Res Tutor manual contains a lot of information, including staff contact info, tutor expectations, email list and calendar info, and more. We will cover key parts of it in staff training, but it is worthwhile going through it on your own.
- Res Tutor storage closets: Each Tutor Suite in Standish and Gore is assigned a closet that can be used for storage. The key for the closet is the same as the tutor suite. If needed, ask the Building Manager for information on which closet is for which Tutor Suite.
- Communications: in addition to the student-facing calendars and email lists, there is a Winthrop House Staff calendar (including, e.g., House Staff meetings) and email lists. You should be added to these automatically. Contact the House Administrator if you are not.
- Google drives: key files and information for House Staff are on shared Google Drives. You should be added to these automatically. Contact the House Administrator if you are not.
