Pre-Law

Whether you are just beginning to imagine a future legal career or polishing a final draft of your personal statement, the Winthrop pre-law tutor team stands ready to guide you every step of the way. We can help you frame and refine your reasons for attending law school, develop a strategic list of target schools, plan for the LSAT, identify recommenders who will write compelling letters, provide feedback on written statements, and demystify the entire admissions process. For students who are still exploring, we are equally eager to talk through what life in law school and after looks like, how to cultivate legal interests during your undergraduate years, and which academic or extracurricular experiences can best prepare you for success.

To ensure that we match you quickly with the adviser whose background best aligns with your goals, please reach out to Phebe Hong. Although we welcome conversations throughout the year, reaching out before October 1 maximizes the range of support we can provide during the peak application season.

If you anticipate requesting recommendations in the future, remember that Winthrop House can collect and securely store your letters even after you graduate, making them readily available when you decide to apply. Simply contact the Academic Coordinator at winthropcoordinator@fas.harvard.edu to initiate that process.

We look forward to partnering with you as you shape your legal path.
